Tales of Legends Past (The Tale of Two Sisters)

Once there were two sisters named Mia and Sara. Mia loved nothing more than helping others learn, while Sara always wanted to make others smile. One day they discover that they had special powers. Mia had the power to impart knowledge to those who needed it, and when the Mystic Realms were created, she taught those she deemed worthy Novelious, which is Latin, but it was forgotten over time. She also taught the people of the Mystic Realms English so they would have a universal language.

Sara had the power to grant gifts to others. Whenever someone was hurting she would go to them and give them what they need. She was kind and caring, protecting those in need.

One day, the sisters found themself in a village where a young girl lived. The girl had never been able to talk, and the sisters became friends with her. “You have such a beautiful voice, Sara,” The girl signed. “Thank you, I only wish that I could help you,” Sara replied. Suddenly she had an idea, “I’d like to give you a precious gift.” Sara said smiling, “I grant you the gift of my voice, so you could be able to speak out loud.” Mia knew that it was her choice, so she let Sara go through with it. From that day forward, Sara was known as the Silent Legend, for she had given her voice away for the young girl.

The first two Legends took notice of the sisters’ noble deeds and decided to make both Pure Legends as they were. That is how they can still appear today since very few Legends can live forever. The only ones that can are the Pure Legends, for they have a form that is entirely made up of magic, and the one who sacrificed herself for her people.

Tales of Legends Past (The Tale of the First Lorians)

Once there were two friends named Lora and Chris. Both of them were sixteen years old when they found something incredible. They were wandering in the woods near their village when they stumbled upon two gemstones. One looked like rose quarts, and the other like an emerald. Lora picked up the rose quarts, while Chris took the emerald. “Wonder what we have stumbled upon?” Lora remarked, examining her gemstone. “I do not know Lora, it is a mystery to me as well,” Chris replied.

Suddenly, the two gems started to shine so brightly that it made Lora and Chris turn away. The two gems flew out of their hands and started to fly around the pair. Out of nowhere, a voice spoke, “I present you, Lora and Chris, with two gemstones filled with pure magic. They will allow you to give others magic, though some may already have magic. However, you cannot use the gems’ powers for your own gain, for they are not yours to keep. Some day you will have to give up the powers you are granted so the true owners will be able to inherit them. You will still have powers of your own.

“To you, Chris, I present the Flame of Light.” The emerald flew into Chris's chest, glowing for a moment and then vanishing. “To you, Lora, I give the Gift of the Rainbow.” And the Rose Quarts did the same as the emerald to Lora. “Use the gifts you have been given wisely, and be prepared to give them up when the time comes.” The voice said no more, leaving Lora and Chris in silence. “Chris, what just happened?” Lora stuttered. “I do not understand it either,” Chris said. And so the first Lorians were born, and what their adventures are? That will be a story for another day.

Home?

This story takes place before the events of Incantus Academy, book one.

8-year-old Alice Wilson looked up at her new house. I wish that we didn’t have to move away, Alice thinks to herself, missing her best friend from her old town. Her father, Mark, and brother, Peter, were in front of her. They didn’t have to unpack anything, since the moving service that Mark employed did that for them. Mark turned around and said, “Kids, welcome to your new home!” The house was two stories with three bedrooms, a study, a playroom, two bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a dining room. Peter was happy with the new home, but Alice missed their old home.

The first night in the new house, Alice couldn’t sleep. Her new room looked almost identical to the one in their old house, but to her, it wasn’t the same. In the morning, Alice was still upset. When her dad asked what was wrong, all she said was, “I want to go home.” Then he said, “But you are home.” Afterward, she went to her room and slammed the door. When Mark tried to talk to her, she just told him to go away.

Later that day, Alice heard someone knock on her door, “Go away!” She said, burying her face in a pillow. Peter quietly opened the door, and walk over to Alice’s bed, and sat down. “Alice, I know that you’re upset about us moving, but change is a good thing.” “No, it’s not,” Alice says, her face still in a pillow. Peter chuckles and says, “If change is bad, then should everyone stay the same way they were from birth?” Alice sat up, “Peter, you know that’s not what I meant.” “That’s what it sounded like,” Peter replies, “but in all seriousness, change like this is good.” “HOW IS LEAVING YOUR ENTIRE CHILDHOOD BEHIND AND GOING TO A PLACE THAT YOU’VE NEVER BEEN BEFORE A GOOD THING!” Alice yells, tears falling off of her face. “YOU’VE LEFT HOME BEFORE AND LIVED SOMEWHERE ELSE, YOU DON’T KNOW HOW I FEEL! YOU WILLINGLY LEFT HOME, I DIDN’T!” Peter was taken aback by Alice’s outburst. “Change is scary,” Peter starts before Alice yells, “I KNOW WHAT YOU’RE GOING TO SAY. I know exactly how you feel, it was the way I felt when I left home for the first time. I DON’T WANT TO HEAR YOU SAY YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL WHEN YOU DON’T!” “Well, I do know how you feel, I’ve had to leave everything I knew before as well,” Peter says calmly. Alice was confused, so Peter continued,

“When I was about your age, we lived in a different town than the one you grew up in. It was shortly after I turned 8 that Dad got a job as a researcher in the town we used to live in. After that, we moved into the house that we lived in before now. Trust me, I felt just like you did, I yelled at Dad quite a bit on the day we moved in, but then Mom talked to me. ‘Peter,’ she said, ‘there’s always going to be a time where things change, but you can’t get upset about it.’ I was confused, so I asked, ‘Why can’t I, I didn’t have a choice in whether we moved or not.’ She just smiled and said, ‘We don’t always have control of what happens in our life, so just be happy where you are.’ I still keep those words to this day. So, are you going to take the advice Mom gave me?” Alice wiped the remains tears off of her face and said, “Yeah!” Peter smiled, put his arm around her, and said, “Always remember that change can always be good if you let it be good.”

Day 17

This takes place before the events of Incantus Academy book 1

December 17, 2007

Dear Diary,
Today was the best day ever! I was chosen the be the spirit that hosts the Snowflake Dance!!! Most of the traditional spirits, my Mom, expected me to do the traditional waltz, but that's lame. Look, people, it's not the 1500s anymore. Also, I question why so many people expect a waltz, I mean come on, there are more ways to dance! Personally, I HATE the waltz. My Mom wanted me to be "A proper host" for when I got the opportunity to, but she needs to get with the times! You do not want to know how many times I have gotten sick while learning the waltz. So I chose to go a different route. Freestyle! No stuffy dresses, no spinning till you got sick, just having fun! That meant that I got to use my playlist! It was amazing.
So when I got to the town where the Snowflake dance was taking place, I saw the most horrible sight. So many dresses, too many dresses. I just wore a normal outfit, not a ballgown. Literally, everyone that could dance in the Snowflake Dance was dressed as if they were going to be doing the waltz, I mean are you trying to make yourself suffer! I looked around to see if there was anyone who was properly dressed, and then I saw them. Two young girls, twins to be precise, who were just wearing normal clothes. I walked over to them and smiled. "How would you two like to dance with me?" I asked with a smile. Both of their faces lit up, and they each took one of my hands and walked to the stage.
You know, people were confused about my choice, but it was the best choice ever! I plugged my phone into the speaker, put on my Happy-Go-Lucky playlist, and started the dance. And I didn't care about how controversial it was!

Day 14

 The Origin of Starry-Wish Day

The first Starry-Wish Day was held in Zenith, as it originated from when Aura, the elemental spirit of winter, gifted the first ice-elementalist their magic. It then became a sort of tradition to exchange gifts on the Wednesday of the Snowflake dance.

Day 13

This story takes place before Incantus Academy book 1

"Wow!" Peter exclaimed, "This is just like how it is a home." Winter Fest had begun, and 13-year-old Peter Wilson, along with his friend Destiny ManteĆo, were exploring the Winter Fair on the campus of Incantus Academy.  This was both of their first Winter Fests away from home. "So," Destiny said, "where do you want to start?" Peter looked around and saw an ice-skating rink. "You up for ice skating?" He asked Destiny, and she nodded, "I'm going to skate circles around you!"
Peter and Destiny stayed at the rink for the rest of the day, Peter attempting to use his skills in Magi-Tech to make boosters for his ice skates. I didn't work.
